Julia Green

From a young age, Julia Green has found a home within music. Guided by teachers who listened deeply and shaped their lessons around who she was, she discovered how music can be a bridge to herself and to the world around her. With over a decade of piano and vocal training, Julia has sung in multiple folk ensembles and draws inspiration from folk, world, bluegrass, and contemporary traditions. Alongside her formal studies, she taught herself guitar, opening new pathways for songwriting and collaboration.

These experiences cultivated a deep appreciation for lyricality and for the way music connects people across cultures and lineages. Her experiential study of music has included time at the Willie Clancy Music Intensive in Ireland and Song School at Planet Bluegrass, immersions that deepened her understanding of music as both a craft and a living, communal practice. Julia earned her degree in Psychology with a minor in Music from Naropa University, where she explored the nervous system, embodiment, and different modes of musical expression. Having grown up with teachers who supported her true musical connection, Julia now strives to offer that same presence to her students, meeting them where they are and helping them cultivate both musical skill and a personal, living relationship with music.
