Cellist Thea Dardanis is an avid performer and teacher currently studying at the University of Colorado with Professor David Requiro. She recently graduated with honors from Indiana University, where she received the Jacobs School of Music Faculty Award and studied with Peter Stumpf. Her work this summer included a fellowship to attend the National Orchestral Institute and performances at the National Cathedral in Washington D. C.
By incorporating her experience in pedagogical study and the Alexander Technique, Thea aims to support her students' musical and physical well-being. She focuses not just on helping her students build a strong technical groundwork, but on the confidence, knowledge, (and fun! ) that music lessons bring. As a Steamboat Springs native, Thea has experienced first-hand the importance and strength of Colorado's music education community.
She looks forward to joining this community as a Boulder-based teacher, and supporting her students wherever their musical journey takes them!
