My daughter is 15yrs old and took a 6 year break from the violin, so returning brought up the frustration of not being "as good as she remembers", having to start a few steps back, and not progressing as fast as she remembers. My daughter was met with extraordinary amounts of empathy and encouragement, and was really met where she was. I remember the first lessons Logan sitting on the floor gently re-introducing my daughter to her instrument, fast forward a few short months and she is preparing for her first recital with Mountainside Music Academy. I could not be more pleased with our experience. My 11 year old has been working with Jerry on the piano for about the same amount of time. Previously we tried 6 months of online/zoom piano lessons that focused primarily on ear training. Jerry has transitioned my 11 year old to reading music, paying attention to dynamics and tempo. The progress has been rapid and altogether astonishing, but the best part is my kid is looking forward to the next lesson, Jerry is able to make challenges fun and worthwhile. I especially enjoy when he introduces music outside of the normal lesson book, to show, for example, that a Satie piece really is accessible and you don't always need cartoons on your sheet music. Again, I could not be more pleased with our experience.

I especially enjoy when he introduces music outside of the normal lesson book, to show, for example, that a Satie piece really is accessible and you don't always need cartoons on your sheet music. Upon my retirement, having time on my hands, I decided to return to playing the piano after an absence from the instrument of almost 25 years. I especially enjoy when he introduces music outside of the normal lesson book, to show, for example, that a Satie piece really is accessible and you don't always need cartoons on your sheet music. We live in Boulder, and have been working with Logan for 4 months now and have had the most positive experience! My daughter is 15yrs old and took a 6 year break from the violin, so returning brought up the frustration of not being "as good as she remembers", having to start a few steps back, and not progressing as fast as she remembers. My daughter was met with extraordinary amounts of empathy and encouragement, and was really met where she was. I remember the first lessons Logan sitting on the floor gently re-introducing my daughter to her instrument, fast forward a few short months and she is preparing for her first recital with Mountainside Music Academy. I could not be more pleased with our experience. My 11 year old has been working with Jerry on the piano for about the same amount of time. Previously we tried 6 months of online/zoom piano lessons that focused primarily on ear training. Jerry has transitioned my 11 year old to reading music, paying attention to dynamics and tempo. The progress has been rapid and altogether astonishing, but the best part is my kid is looking forward to the next lesson, Jerry is able to make challenges fun and worthwhile. I especially enjoy when he introduces music outside of the normal lesson book, to show, for example, that a Satie piece really is accessible and you don't always need cartoons on your sheet music. Again, I could not be more pleased with our experience.

Upon my retirement, having time on my hands, I decided to return to playing the piano after an absence from the instrument of almost 25 years. I had previously taken lessons as an adult learner and gained some limited proficiency, but had to quit as the demands of work and life took over. My daughter is 15yrs old and took a 6 year break from the violin, so returning brought up the frustration of not being "as good as she remembers", having to start a few steps back, and not progressing as fast as she remembers. My daughter was met with extraordinary amounts of empathy and encouragement, and was really met where she was. I remember the first lessons Logan sitting on the floor gently re-introducing my daughter to her instrument, fast forward a few short months and she is preparing for her first recital with Mountainside Music Academy. I could not be more pleased with our experience. My 11 year old has been working with Jerry on the piano for about the same amount of time. Previously we tried 6 months of online/zoom piano lessons that focused primarily on ear training. Jerry has transitioned my 11 year old to reading music, paying attention to dynamics and tempo. The progress has been rapid and altogether astonishing, but the best part is my kid is looking forward to the next lesson, Jerry is able to make challenges fun and worthwhile. I especially enjoy when he introduces music outside of the normal lesson book, to show, for example, that a Satie piece really is accessible and you don't always need cartoons on your sheet music. Again, I could not be more pleased with our experience.
